Sync Issues

If things aren’t updating as expected, here are the most common causes and fixes.

Library not updating

If new items aren’t showing up or changes aren’t reflected:

  1. Pull down to refresh on the library screen. This forces a fresh load from the server.
  2. Check your internet connection. The library syncs over the network — offline changes aren’t supported yet.
  3. Close and reopen the app. This clears any stale state and reconnects to the server.

If you saved an item via email or share sheet and it’s not appearing, give it a minute. Content extraction and AI processing take 30-60 seconds, and the item won’t show until extraction is at least partially complete.

Subscription not showing

After purchasing a subscription, it can take a few minutes for the purchase to sync between the app store and KeepStream.

  1. Wait a few minutes. Most purchases sync within 1-2 minutes.
  2. Restore purchases. Go to Profile > Subscription > Restore Purchases. This re-checks your purchase history with the app store.
  3. Restart the app. Close it fully and reopen.

If your subscription still isn’t showing after 10 minutes, contact support@keepstream.app with the email address associated with your account and your approximate purchase time.

Items stuck in “Processing”

Normal processing takes 30-60 seconds. If an item has been stuck in “Processing” for more than 5 minutes:

  • The item may have failed silently during processing.
  • Tap the three-dot menu > Retry Processing to start the process again.
  • If it fails again, the content may be too short, too complex, or in an unsupported format.

Course or playlist not updating

Courses and playlists update when the underlying data changes. If you’ve added an item to a course but don’t see it:

  • Pull down to refresh on the course screen.
  • Make sure the item has finished processing (items in “Processing” state may not appear in course views until complete).
