PDF Upload

You can upload PDF documents — lecture slides, research papers, handouts, syllabi — directly into KeepStream. Once uploaded, they’re processed just like any other saved item: extracted, categorised, summarised, and ready for audio playback, cram sessions, and quizzes. This is a Study Pack feature.

How to upload

  1. Tap the + button.
  2. Select Upload PDF.
  3. Choose a file from your device.

The upload starts immediately.

What happens next

After upload, KeepStream:

  • Extracts the text from the PDF. This works for both regular text PDFs and scanned documents (OCR is handled by AI).
  • Categorises and tags the content automatically.
  • Generates a summary of the key points.

Once processing is complete, the PDF item behaves like any other item in your library. You can play it as audio, add it to a course, include it in cram sessions, and generate quiz questions from it.

File limits

  • Maximum file size: 50 MB
  • Supported format: PDF only (.pdf)

Adding PDFs to courses

After uploading, you can assign the PDF to a course from the three-dot menu, just like any other item. This makes it available for course-specific cram sessions and quizzes.

Tips

  • For best results with scanned documents, make sure the scan is reasonably clear. Very low-resolution scans or handwritten notes may not extract well.
  • If a PDF contains mostly images or diagrams with little text, the extracted content will be limited. The AI does its best, but text-heavy documents work better.
  • Large slide decks (50+ slides) may take a bit longer to process.
