Voice Quizzes
Voice quizzes let you study completely hands-free. Questions play aloud and you respond by speaking. This is a Study Pack feature.
How it works
- Start a quiz and choose Audio Quiz mode.
- Each question is read aloud through your speakers or headphones.
- After the question, the app listens for your response.
- You hear whether you got it right, then the next question plays.
Voice commands
During a voice quiz, you can say:
- “Reveal” — show the answer without giving a response.
- “Next” — skip to the next question.
- “Got it” — mark the question as understood (after revealing the answer).
- “Again” — mark the question for review (it’ll come back in future quizzes).
Automatic fallback
If voice recognition fails twice in a row, the app automatically switches to button mode for the rest of the quiz. You won’t get stuck if it can’t hear you.
This can happen when:
- You’re in a noisy environment (traffic, coffee shop, gym).
- Bluetooth headphones don’t pass through microphone audio cleanly.
- Background noise interferes with recognition.
If this happens frequently, you can always start quizzes in flashcard mode instead and switch to voice mode when conditions are better.
Requirements
- Microphone permission — the app needs access to your microphone. You’ll be prompted the first time you start a voice quiz.
- Quiet-ish environment — voice recognition works best when it can clearly hear your voice. It doesn’t need to be silent, but a relatively calm setting helps.
Tips
- Voice quizzes are ideal during walks, chores, or anywhere your hands are busy.
- If you’re using Bluetooth headphones and voice recognition isn’t picking up your responses, the app will switch to buttons automatically — no need to troubleshoot mid-quiz.
- Short, clear answers work better than long explanations for voice recognition.
